rain gardens

Rain gardens are planted to reduce storm water runoff by facilitating absorption into the ground.  They are a useful tool for intercepting and collecting runoff, filtering pollution, and minimizing soil erosion.  The native plants used in rain gardens also have the added benefit of creating a habitat for birds, butterflies and other wildlife.
